Hinata Shouyou's motherfucking name

So I'm reading fanfiction as usual. and like 

Hinata Shoyo. 

Okay that's not technically incorrect but its spelled Shōyō or Shouyou 

notice the ō which can also = ou

so (shou)you know.

I prefer Shouyou because I'm a shitty Introductory Jap student who only knows Hiragana but that's actually helpful here. 

The hiragana for Hinata's first name is しょうよう

しょ being Sho
う being U
and よ being yo

so yeah, I mean it's not a big deal but "Shoyo" looks really strange to me and IDK why.
